In a Relationship: The Bachelor and Power Meetings

My mom often tells me, “Brittany, you should apply to be a contestant on the show ‘The Bachelor’ to find a good guy.” Honestly, it’s not for me. There’s only one guy, I’d have to compete for one-on-one time with him, many of the contestants are solely looking for free TV exposure, and more often than not the final relationships that actually blossom don’t last for more than a year. Similarly, you should only rely on trade shows to spark new business relationships, because one-on-one time with potential business partners is a serious challenge at trade shows, and potential business relationships sometimes don’t make it much further than the exchange of a business card.

My dad often tells me, “Brittany, it’s not always about you.” So let’s talk about Power Meetings. Power Meetings are where suppliers and distributors have 20 minute time slots blocked out to meet one-on-one with each other. There is no competition for time, just for partnerships. Suppliers and distributors meet each and every attendee that fits the bill as a potential partner; It’s like speed dating—fast, efficient and personal.

We received the best feedback yet from our most recent Power Meeting event, which took place in Scottsdale, Ariz. last week. Don’t take my word for it, listen to what some of our attendees have to say:
